CONCENTRATION AREA: ADMINISTRATION
The choice for the Administration concentration area is due to the perception that the research lines covered by the course permeate, in general, the Administrative Sciences. The two lines of research that comprise this area of focus are: 1) Organizations and Development and 2) Strategy and Systems. It is understood that with both lines it is possible to work on a range of themes that seek to understand the role of the teacher and researcher and of Administrative Science in different contexts, especially in the development processes of both organizations and the environment that surrounds them.
RESEARCH LINES:
1) ORGANIZATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT
The studies developed in this line are focused on the understanding of organizational concepts and the interrelationships between subjects, organizations and the environment. It seeks to understand and analyze the dynamics of these relationships, highlighting the different impacts on intra and inter organizational development and on the region where the organizations are located. The research line is based on two main thematic nuclei:
a) Organizational Studies and Society
The thematic nucleus, from an inter and multidisciplinary perspective, aims to understand the relationships between public and/or private organizations and society, and studies on the relationships between people in the organizational, environmental and social context.
The main topics of interest are:
– Analysis of higher education policies;
– University management;
– Transformations at work;
– Inclusion in the organizational context;
– Organizational and human behavior;
– Studies on subjectivity, gender and diversity.

b) Business Economy, Development and Management
The thematic nucleus seeks to understand development processes and their reciprocal relationships with organizations and the economy, including social and environmental perspectives. In this area, studies of different theoretical and methodological approaches to development, organizational economics and business management stand out. The integration of these themes enables the construction of knowledge around the role of economic and social dynamics and regional characteristics in the competitive dynamics of organizations.

– Public Policy Analysis;
– Management of Productive Chains and Agribusiness;
– Financial management.

2) STRATEGY AND SYSTEMS
The studies developed in this line are focused on understanding the importance of strategy, marketing, technologies and systems in different areas of Administration, their impacts on organizations and society, as well as for economic growth and development. The research line is based on two main thematic nuclei:
a) Technology, Systems and Innovation
The thematic nucleus aims to develop studies related to systems, information and communication technologies (ICT), management and prospecting for innovation, with a focus on understanding and applying these in the construction of knowledge, aligned with the development of organizations and society.

– Cluster and networks;
– Analysis of social networks;
– Internet and Social Media;
– Impacts of New Technologies on the Individual, Organizations and Society
– Technological dependencies
– Data mining and Artificial Intelligence;
– Relations between Governments and Society mediated by ICT.

b) Marketing and Sustainability
The thematic nucleus aims to carry out studies in the areas of marketing and sustainability, seeking applications in the public, social and business contexts. Focusing on the processes of creating and developing markets, consumer behavior, marketing and sustainability management and other topics related to the impacts of marketing and sustainability on society.

– Materialism;
– Conscious Consumption, Environmental Marketing and Green Seals
– Environmental Management and Reverse Logistics
