Project 1: Analysis, Design, and Implementation of DC-AC Converters for Renewable Energy Generation Systems

Start Date: 01/03/2024

Duration: 48 months

Summary:
Photovoltaic solar generation systems have attracted attention mainly due to their reliability, reduced gas emissions, and silent operation. Connecting these generation systems to the electrical grid demands the use of static converters that incorporate low harmonic distortion of output voltages, high efficiency, a reduced number of power devices, and low common-mode voltage. Low common-mode voltage is a characteristic that enables the inverter to operate without the use of a transformer in grid-connected applications. Therefore, this project aims to develop new converter topologies that improve the aforementioned characteristics for grid-connected distributed generation systems.
