Connecting these generation systems to the electrical grid demands the use of static converters that incorporate low harmonic distortion of output voltages, high efficiency, a reduced number of power devices, and low common-mode voltage. Low common-mode voltage is a characteristic that enables the inverter to operate without the use of a transformer in grid-connected applications. Therefore, this project aims to develop new converter topologies that improve the aforementioned characteristics for grid-connected distributed generation systems.

Team:

Researchers: Felipe Bovolini Grigoletto

Postgraduate Students:
Kelwin de Oliveira Silveira
Sound Cedieu
Junior Felipe Mallmann

Undergraduate Research Students:
Carlos Antônio Oviedo Gomes Neto
Matheus Berens de Quadros

Project 1: Analysis, Design, and Implementation of DC-AC Converters for Renewable Energy Generation Systems Start Date: 01/03/2024 Duration: 48 months Summary: Photovoltaic solar generation systems have attracted attention mainly due to their reliability, reduced gas emissions, and silent operation.
